Acupuncture Sessions

Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old energy medicine, using stainless steel filaments which activate energy centers on and off the body. It balances the energy, unblocks the qi, alleviates pain and releases trapped emotions. It restores the body to its natural, balanced state.

It starts with the energy, the physical follows.

Acupuncture is an energy medicine.

Shift the energy and the physical follows.

Tools for treatment

  • Cupping & Gua sha

These therapies are one of the 5 branches of Chinese medicine. Both improve blood circulation and release stored tension in the muscles and tissues. During a cupping session, glass cups are applied with heat and form a suction on the skin. The cups are both moved and kept stationary where there is tightness or pain, usually on the back, neck and/or shoulders. Gua sha is conducted by using light friction on tight muscles by quickly moving a tool over the skin. This warms the tissue and releases any light pressure breaks up any minor adhesions in the fascia.

  • Moxa

Moxa is the moxibustion, or burning, of the herb Chinese mugwort. It may either be applied onto acupuncture points as incense cones, directly onto the needles or held over the body to warm the channels and acupuncture points with the purpose of warming and/or moving any stagnant qi in the meridians, tissue or joints.

  • Colorpuncture

Originated by German naturopath Peter Mandel, this technique combines Chinese medicine with modern photon biophysics. According to recent scientific findings, light frequencies can penetrate deeply into the cells. They can restore cellular communication and support the body’s natural healing processes. By applying colored light to various acupuncture points of the body, physical, mental and emotional issues are treated.

  • Sound Therapy

Singing bowls, koshi chimes, ocean drums and/or tuning forks may be used on or off of the body to release stagnant qi and balance energy in one’s auric field and physical body.

  • Herbs

Herbs may be prescribed as a patent formula to assist in the body's healing process. It is one of the 5 branches of Chinese medicine, along with acupuncture, bodywork (tuina, moxa, shiatsu, cupping, gua sha), nutrition and qi gong.

  • Tuning Forks

Using different tuning forks with different frequencies, acupuncture points are activated for energy balancing, both internal and off the body.

  • Essential Oils

Essential oils are sometimes applied to the acupuncture points to enhance the treatment when needed. Each oil has a specific indication and beneficial effect, to treat mental, emotional or physical imbalances.

  • Crystal healing

Crystals are energy solidified and each crystal contains a particular healing vibration. During an acupuncture session these may be placed on the body singularly or as a complete crystal layout to compliment the treatment.

  • Allergy Corrections

Allergy corrections are an additional modality sometimes added to an acupuncture session to neutralize a reactivity to a plant, animal or food. This is done by placing the allergen on the body and holding 4 sets of acupuncture points with the fingers. Once this is done, the individual is often non-reactive to that substance. It usually only takes one session.
